✧ > overview: this story has roots since 2018 can you believe it lmao but it rlly just got thrown into the backburner for a whopping five years or so before I dug it out to be revamped into a magical girl esque story in 2023, cuz I had severe magical girl brainrot for a good while after watching/reading stuff related to it, the story is meant to be quite self indulgent rlly, playing on a lot of cliche friendship tropes I've loved as a kid (obviously MLP inspired) w a slightly more refined twist w my current writing style, around the beginning of 2025 as I'm writing this I got hit w another wave of brainrot which lead to a full on revamp overhaul that changed the trajectory of everythinggg its rlly starting to solidify into it's own magical girl esque story w its own identity + a mild hint of superhero esque society being explored

✧ > latest development as of October 2025: Tam gets worse LMAO anyways yeag Altruna is made by Larkshine for her, something something Altruna is a sort of barrier solely for escapism + Tam's fear of water + artificial rainbows and stuff stuff, I've ranted abt this more in my drafts but alas I'm putting this here solely to keep track of patchnotes

✧ > August 2025: Tam just gets more and more unhinged by the second and is slowly becoming one of my fav chars ever lmao (and I thought Aeris is gonna be my fav for this story for a long time) she's so unhinged... I'm playing w the whole Larkshine lore + from hero sidekick to villain henchman thing and there's just way too much lore implications going on, that said Chase is some kinda birb hybrid now (alongside some species changes for a lot of the chars tbh) + Barley having a shared history w Tam and having went by Paraffin... a lotta fun things being brewed

✧ > July 2025: somehow managed to connect the lore w Faldeigh Street... something something Rurene aroma magic Lychee glowlins go into hiding magic herbs... its too long to be written here lowkey lmao but alas well at least I know what I'm talking about ouh

✧ > June 2025: more patchnotes yayo, but tbh a lot of it are kinda scattered tbh, current biggest ordeal is ofc Tamago and Kibble lmao, they have a wack bond going on in the unhinged bad guy vs team pet that secretly has a double life, in which all this started as a joke but alas, Tam is also getting a lot more lore lately alongside her dead wife but even rn idk what's the deal w her, the story is starting to be slightly more solidified and has been officially upgraded to main story status alongside Swan Feather, also shoutout to Gale now having a funnier personality than her previous rendition, she's starting to have equal footing w the rest of the team now, also Sparklyn might be renamed to Bluebell Starlet... I'm still thinking...

✧ > Jan 2025: where tf do I even begin lmao its way too much... veterans would know this used to be named Tales of Iridescence cuz I took it from the og 2018 ver named Friendship Tales, the entire story is just a lot more refined and slightly darker now lol, w a shit load of new chars and a whole new aesthetic that I had to mildly revamp both the playlist and the moodboard, this page itself isn't quite there yet so to speak but changing the bg to be a cityscape does wonders lol I haven't got around to collect more decobits to deck out this place, that said EI is the main reason dev on other stories are temporarily on the shelf as of late cuz the brainrot is severe... Aeris my beloafed... Chase my beloafed... Barley my beloafed... Nimble my beloafed... Sundae my beloafed... Finch my beloafed... Sparklyn needs a name change lmao, idk if Chronos even still exists what is this mf's deal!!!

Encore's Iridescence follows Marble Amaranth, a tenacious, renowned royal alchemist that seeks to trace back a memory once forgotten through faint clues that were left behind. As she climbs up the ranks in the kingdom, she gets partnered up with the lead alchemist, Skylar Altair, who seeks to aid the kingdom in its long hunt for a "cure" for those born without wings through harvesting magic anomalies.

It was one fateful night when Marble was summoned back to Altruna, an alternate dimension that she has since forgotten. As she meets up with her long separated friends, the truth dawns on them that they were once a team of magical beings known as Glowlins that protected Altruna under the guidance of their now fallen mentor. With a new threat arising, Marble takes on a double life that changes the rest of her days.

She attempts to reconcile both identities as she "dimension hops" on a daily basis, all while hiding her alter ego from Skye, who has quickly caught onto her suspicious absence as they grow closer. Though, it didn't took long for the threat to slowly seep across dimensions, as lost truths slowly emerge about the existence of Glowlins.

With both dimensions at stake, Marble eventually has to confront the connection between her separate identities, as darker secrets starts to resurface about the protectors of the realm that came before her, with a bygone calamity still lurking around the corners (and the sun is getting stolen, again)
