ABOUT

Good day beans, if you got lost in the lengthy lore labyrinth or want some fun meta creator's notes then you're at the right place~ This is a slightly more comprehensive lore rundown to help you get kickstarted on this mess of a site (but also as an excuse for me to ramble about this heap of a passion project that's been brewing in my head since forever)

✧ So What's All This? ✧

> WIP lol

> Odukora is my headworld/paracosm where all my stories and characters reside. I've always enjoyed imagining fictional scenarios, but I've only truly started taking it "seriously" as a lengthy passion project around 2018, which has lead to a near decade worthy of lore that I want to compile somewhere, mainly for archive purposes, but also to throw it into the void of the world like a message in a bottle

> I've had plenty of attempts of archiving its lore online, but to no avail none of them felt long lasting enough (or easy to navigate/organize) for me to bother keeping them around. For a while all of the lore were scattered across notes, and it wasn't until around 2024 that I realized the potential of simply coding a whole site from scratch seeing as there doesn't seem to be a platform that truly caters to my tastes. So came this site which is the highest honour I can bestow to my creations~

✧ Where Is Everything Taking Place? ✧

> Odukora, obviously. Where else would it be? Okay in all seriousness, here's a little rundown on the setting:

> Odukora in this case refers to the whole world itself, and within said world there's mainly two realms in which all the stuff happens, namely the mortal realm Naru and immortal realm Cloud Cliffs. Most stories of mine tend to take place in Naru though, but Cloud Cliffs does serve as a little bit of a backdrop for the setting since both realms' histories are very interconnected

> The main setting is completely fictional and mostly fantasy, though the contexts in which it exists can vary a bit (think medieval / modern / futuristic etc) depending on which part of the timeline the stories take place in. So far most stories tend to lean towards the modern fantasy vibe where magic and technology coexist and are commonly used together. Otherwise it's actually somewhat similar to our world aside from all the wack magic stuff

✧ Why Odukora? ✧

> Random keyboard smash that stuck for 8 years, nothing deeper beyond that. Somehow I've grown fond of it though. Can't imagine a better name for this wack universe. Fun fact: it was almost called Casterue, another keyboard smash that ended up as another smaller region in the world instead. I was playing around coming up with names for lands. Pretty sure that's how we ended up here.

✧ When Does It All Happen? ✧

> Everything in Odukora takes place across one lengthy timeline. There's just the one (1) timeline. No multiverses or AUs or time travelling stuff going on to save everyone trouble.

> That said while there is a timeline, you don't technically need to know the whole deal to understand what's going on as all stories are developed separately. In the sense that there's still very mild connections with each other, and there's definitely some form of chronological order (which is why its called Odukora Chronicles in the first place) but you can pretty much get by without knowing what goes on in the other ones.

> Knowing everything does spice things up a little though but there isn't necessarily a certain order to go through, since you can just go back and learn about another thing featured in another story another time. I pretty much explore different aspects of the lore via the stories with very minor overlapping with other stories that is not needed to understand the individual story itself. The only reason I arrange them in specific order in the story page is based on my own brainrot and amount of existing stuff that I've made for them lmao

✧ So What's Going On? ✧

> Plenty of shenanigans and shitshows, something something immortal beings, ancient kingdoms and puny mortals fighting over magic related woes while they go through the Horrors, whilst also somehow surviving most with Hope in their hearts, sometimes they get Good Lives and sometimes they're Doomed depending on how you see it, in the end it all does work out though somehow

> Most stuff are story driven but there's also heavy emphasis on the character's bonds and dynamics that I explore with a thousand motifs and parallels, I think this is one of the main highlights of digging deeper beyond what I've put on here...

✧ There's Too Many of These Guys, Who Are Them Anyway? ✧

> 200+ blorbos seem a lot, I know, but once you get the gist of it its actually not all that convoluted.

> My brand of storytelling is rather simple: each story follows one protagonist and one deuteragonist, a handful of supporting characters adding up to a good 15+ of them, then maybe some side / background characters and now you have a 20 or something. Then maybe add another few more that haunt the storylines even if they've existed millennia ago from the main story, and there you have it.

Currently I'm focusing on my main three stories, so at most there's only around 50 characters who are actually relevant to what's going on (the lore heavy parts anyway), I have them all listed on the Character page for easy navigation, so you don't have to dig onto each story one by one (though that's probably the better choice as of now, since most profiles aren't complete yet)

✧ Themes? ✧

I create from longing, melancholy and a hope for a better world with a pinch of nostalgia or so I'm told, so that's probably the kinda vibe to expect if you dig around enough. To be less vague, it's really just fantasy escapism that attempts to be a little grounded through humanistic allegories and exploration of morality and whatnot. They're all bittersweet comfort food that taste like magical explosions. Which is still kinda vague tbh, idk dig further and tell me about it

✧ General Odukora Things To Get You Started ✧

> Thinking about where you should start? You're at the right place! Have a very (hopefully) short summary of Odukora's history, setting and what each of these stories cover, aka your designated starter pack:

> A very long time ago there was nothing in the world, before the warmth of the stars slowly caused two goddesses to take form. These goddesses were the source of all beings as they wielded magic as a raw form of energy and life force. However, the goddesses eventually grew apart from envy, causing the land they once ruled over to shatter into two as they slowly fade out of existence, leaving their immortal creations to rule the lands on their own. The shattered lands were eventually mended back into one by immortal beings, forming the current immortal realm. The mortal realm was subsequently created by them to pass magic down as a blessing. From there, magic becomes a source of conflict throughout history, as all beings ponder and wrestle with ideals that comes with magic. In this world, magic was meant to be a gift that eases life, protects peace and brings joy, and yet, it has been twisted and misused to define purpose, status, and power through unruly and cruel beliefs. Most stories throughout the timeline explore magic's multifaceted nature, and how the past bleeds into the future through the connection between immortals and mortals. The main stories tend to explore these conflicts in much more depth, commonly featuring the rise and fall of ancient kingdoms and the mortal realm as they pursuit magic through gruesome means.

✧ Okay But Can You Explain Like I'm Five? ✧

> Once upon a time everything dark. Then energy from stars created two goddesses. One wielded stone and another wielded crystal. Stone creates Life and Crystal controls Souls. Stone Goddess and Crystal Goddess created a realm and ruled together. Realm was called Cloud Cliffs and all beings were immortal. Everything was peaceful. Crystal kept all beings from doing "evil things".

> Stone Goddess jealous of Crystal Goddess cuz she want to control souls too. They fight and Crystal shatters, Crystal Goddess dies with it, shattered Crystal no longer controls souls. All beings gain conscience and peace was gone. Beings now do "good things" and "evil things". Stone Goddess regrets and shatters Stone in half. Half give to "good guys" and half give to "evil guys". Before she dies, she hides shattered Crystal. Crystal still powerful even if shattered, dangerous if fall into wrong hands.

> Stone in half, land also in half. "Good Guys" and "Evil Guys" now have their own land. Cloud Cliffs is now Cloud Island and Corrupted Cliffs. Good Land floats, Evil Land sinks. One peaceful, one chaos. No mingle allowed, too different. But even if different, both believed in greatness of magic. All immortals born with magic, some good at magic, some bad at magic. Everyone wear Tokens, Tokens tell if you good or bad at magic. If good at magic, everyone like you, if bad at magic, everyone hate you.

> In Good Land, there was one Magic Scapegoat, she was bad at magic. Nothing she did worked. Everyone thinks something is wrong. One day, a Magic Prodigy befriends her. Magic Prodigy loved magic, not for power, but for knowledge and passion. Everyone thinks he is weird. The two become friends. No one liked them, but they had each other.

> One day, Magic Scapegoat asks Magic Prodigy to borrow Token. Borrow Token is dangerous. Every immortal only allowed one Token. Hard to control magic owned by others. If not control well, something goes wrong. Magic Prodigy borrows anyway. Magic Scapegoat was his friend. She would never do anything wrong. He trusted her. Everything go wrong anyway. Magic Scapegoat was punished. She is now sent away to Evil Land because she did "evil thing". She can only go back if she is "good" again. Magic Prodigy heartbroken, but he waited for her to return.

> Magic Scapegoat never returns. She meets King of Evil Land, marries him and had a prince in exchange for magic. She is now powerful. She will never not be powerful again. Magic Prodigy sad and bitter. He was betrayed. He now hides alone in basement, pathetically. Meanwhile, War happens between Good Land and Evil Land, Magic Scapegoat and King of Evil Land broke no mingling rule. The two are then killed. But the war also killed king and queen of Good Land.

> Good Land now ruled by Good Princess, Evil Land now ruled by Evil Prince. They were both too young but had no choice. Evil Prince sucks at his job, thinks Good Princess does it better than him. He hides identity to spy on Good Princess, finds out she sucks too. They both suck together and spend more time together. Both fall in love, but it was forbidden. No mingling, too different. But both weren't all that different. Why Good Land and Evil Land? All beings can do good and all beings can do evil.

> One day, everyone else finds out the two have been mingling. Forbidden! Must hunt down both so they don't harm each other, they're too different. Evil Prince protects Good Princess and dies, Good Princess heartbroken. Good Land and Evil Land confused. If different, why protect? If different, why heartbroken? Maybe they are not all that different. Maybe no one is different. Why still need Good Land and Evil Land? What if merge both back into Cloud Cliffs?

> Good Land and Evil Land merge Stone back together. Cloud Cliffs restored into one realm. Stone is whole again and revives Evil Prince from dead. Princess and Prince now rightful rulers of Cloud Cliffs. They both create Mortal Realm as blessing. Mortal Realm is called Naru. Guardians are trained to pass down magic from immortals to mortals. Magic is now a gift.

> Everyone happy ending. But Magic Prodigy was left behind and alone. He mad and vengeful. One day, he finds out the Shattered Crystal and learns that it can be mended with souls. He steals Crystal, and descends into Naru in search for answers.....WIP

✧ Some Terms to Know ✧

> Some worldbuilding terms that may occasionally appear as I talk about them. Some are more story relevant and others are just for general lore purposes. Terms related to in depth Magic would be in the Magic page in the Glossary section.

> Arranged in level of importance / relevance, figured an alphabetical order might've seem confusing without context. Anyways.......

✧ General Terms ✧

Realms:
Odukora mainly has two known realms, the immortal realm and the mortal realm. Other realms also exist, but rarely known by the average being. Realms can only be created with extremely potent magic. In other words, they're planes of existence in which beings can exist. Realms generally have a barrier that separates it from other realms, which are only penetrable via portals.

Portals:
Anything that connects one realm to another is considered a portal. They are usually activated by artifacts with very potent magic. Realms are generally impenetrable by all beings without portals. Which is why some realms may exist outside the knowledge of others.

Beings:
All inhabitants are referred to as beings, mortals and immortals alike. Though, beings generally are referred to as sentient inhabitants. Creatures may be referred to as beings, plants, not so much.

Mortals:
Beings with limited lifespans, generally up to a century but usually shorter. The least magically inclined of all beings. Mortals are not inherently born with magic and tend to view magic as a resource.

Immortals:
Beings with unlimited lifespans, but can still die under dire injury, not invincible but not subjectable to aging or diseases the way mortals are. All immortals are born with magic through inheritance.

Creatures:
Other life and critters, think wildlife and domesticated pets. They're much more magically inclined compared to mortals but not as powerful as immortals. Parts of a creature may be harvested as a magic resource.

Artifacts:
Any item with potent magic properties can be considered an artifact, whether they exist naturally with magic or were infused with magic down the line. They're generally used to store magic and give magic an physical "vessel" to exist in. Can be combined to become more powerful.

Magic:
Magic can be many things, but it mainly existed as a life and energy source in the beginning. All magic origins can be traced back to stardust, but there has since been several ways that magic has been infused throughout the realms.

Vessel:
Otherwise known as Bodies, Vessel is more commonly used by immortals in relation to Beings. Mortals just refer to them as Bodies. They pretty much allow souls to exist, move and live in a physical state.

Soul:
Otherwise known as Conscience, souls are what makes all beings and creatures sentient. All souls are made with stardust then infused into vessels to create beings. Mortals do not know of this, and only certain immortals involved in Creation are aware of this.

Constellations:
Otherwise known as a group of stars. All souls are created through combining the energy of stardust from several stars. With that, each being has one Constellation, which are the stars used to create them. Mortals do not know of this.

✧ Locations ✧

Odukora:
The world as a whole, all realms, locations and events take place within Odukora. Anywhere outside Odukora exists in a dark void where stars exist, which is generally referred to as Space.

Cloud Cliffs:
Also known as the Immortal Realm. Originally created by two goddesses, it was once split into half but was eventually merged back into one. Somewhat peaceful under its current rulers. Aware of the Mortal Realm's existence, but has since lost access after the portal was sealed shut. Most immortals are indifferent towards mortal life and do not tend to interfere unless needed.

Naru:
Also known as the Mortal Realm. Created by the current rulers of Cloud Cliffs as a blessing. Immortals once passed down magic knowledge to mortals several millenia ago through the Guardian Guild. The Guild has since been disassembled after a tragedy, and shortly after the portal was sealed shut. Naru has since gone through several eras of peace and turbulence, with magic commonly being a source of conflict.

Empyrean:
Also known as the middle realm, the inbetween, or colloquially by beings: Sky's Edge or Earth's End. This is where all mortals go when their mortal vessels decease. Not exactly the afterlife, but rather a resting place before they pass on. All souls return back to their original form as stardust once they make peace with death. Mortals do not know of this, and only certain immortals are familiar with this realm. They are known as Keepers. Unbeknownst to most, there are certain ways for mortals to access this realm even without death.

Deep Realm:
Also known as the Failsafe, hidden under Mount. Eden. Only current rulers of Cloud Cliffs are aware of this realm's existence. It was created as an "empty realm" to seal threats or disasters if anything were to put Naru in danger one day. Currently dwelled by Corondale, an ancient empire who once attempted to take over the realms. The deepest part of this realm is known as the Core, in which no one can escape unless they have access to a portal. Time here seems to be at a standstill, perpetually cold and dark.

Altruna:
An Alternate Naru, or what its creator wants other beings to believe. Doesn't necessarily categorize as a full realm but rather a pocket dimension, or pocket realm for that matter. Exists within Naru and is somehow more magically potent than Naru itself. The sky is perpetually pinkish and the grass has a bluish hue. Time moves faster here. It is believed one minute in Naru is the equivalent of one hour in Altruna. Currently protected by beings known as Glowlins. Only a select few mortals are aware of it's existence.

Mount. Eden:
A mysterious mountain in the middle of the mortal realm, known for causing unexplainable disappearances, no one has ventured there and returned. Rumoured to be where Corrupted Creatures come from. An explorer crew attempted to venture there to solve the mystery once, but was never found again. The tragedy was dubbed The Eternal.

Corondale:
Located in Naru, ancient empire of the Polaris bloodline, historically known to have attempted to take over both realms through the creation of the Dreamway Elixir, a potent elixir with brainwashing properties. The empire was eventually sealed away by the rulers of Cloud Cliffs into the Deep Realm. Its emperor currently seeks vengeance and intends to create a portal to escape. Once a part of the Eclipsis Bloodline before it was split. The other half is known as the Lunaris bloodline. It is believed the Polaris bloodline has no living heirs.

Selenburgh:
Located in Naru, ancient empire of the Lunaris bloodline, historically known to have pursued immortality through a self induced curse known as Dravianisis which prolongs mortal lifespan. It was later renamed Gandoline Skies after the previous empress, believed to be unjustly murdered by the Alpenglow Kingdom. Currently seeks for the Artifact of Immortality to revive her. Once a part of the Eclipsis Bloodline before it was split. The other half is known as the Polaris bloodline. Publicly known to have two living heirs, one of which has seemingly escaped.

Alpenglow:
Located in Naru, ancient kingdom of the Solstice bloodline, historically had less violent pursuits, but went through occasional eras of turbulence due to precarious relations with other monarchies, which led to a long list of prophecies made to avoid disaster. Was once targeted by the Eclipsis bloodline to end its reign, but remained triumphant. Recently accused to have caused the murder of Selenburgh's previous empress. Currently known to have one living heir, who is missing and presumedly dead.

Kahdeina:
Ancient Kingdom of the Altair bloodline, historically known to deem wings as sign of higher status. At some point in history, one heir was born wingless, who was then left to die. It was believed she was taken away by a "witch" and never seen again. The kingdom was soon after cursed with a hundred year drought, leading to its current method of artifical rain. Known to have two living heirs, none of which are publicly acknowledged.

✧ Notable Beings ✧

The Goddesses:
The original creators of Cloud Cliffs itself. One wielded the Stone of Creation while the other wielded the Soul Crystal. They ruled side by side together for millennia before envy took over and led to their deaths. It is believed their souls returned to the skies in the form of aurorae. Immortals generally know their existence to have been real, while mortals deem them more as a folktale from long ago. Some parts of the realm still celebrate Festival of the Flares on the coldest winter nights in memory of them. In some sense, they are still watching over.

Guardians:
Immortals who were trained to pass down magic knowledge to the mortal realm through the Guardian Guild. There were several generations of Guardians across centuries, most of which are still alive but have retired for a long time. Guardians tend to be tasked with guiding and protecting, but are commonly also magic scholars who did research to understand the mortal realm itself. Some Guardians grow fond of the mortal realm and some merely see it as duty.

Corrupted Creatures:
Creatures that are somehow magically mutated to cause harm, known for being violent, invasive and rampageous. A somewhat recent occurance that has threatened livelihoods of mortals. Believed to have originated from Mount. Eden.

Rockrifts:
Descendants of the Polaris bloodline, not necessarily a species but rather all relatives that relate to said bloodline. Even then, they're commonly referred to as a species by mortals as there are certain traits passed down that sets them apart from other species. Known for having antlers, sharp fangs, tufted ears, long tails and striped markings. It is believed there are no surviving descendants of this bloodline. Even if there were, they are likely mistaken for deer-lynx-tiger hybrids.

Draviarants
Descendants of the Lunaris bloodline, but not necessarily. Any being induced with the Dravianisis curse at any part of their life can be considered a Draviarant, while Draviarants by inheritance are simply born with it. Their main trait being the ability to shapeshift into some form of beast, usually draconic or avian, hence the name Draviarant. Those born with it can control said trait easier than those who was induced with it later in life. Draviarants by birth are often indistinguishable from other mortals, as they tend to hide their beast form through other species as a front. Historically self-induced to prolong mortal lifespan and become more magically potent, even at the expense of life threatening side effects. A twisted variant of the Glowlin blessing that was tweaked to become unrecognizable.

Glowlins
Any mortal bestowed with the Glowlin blessing. The original Glowlin blessings were given out by the last generation of the Guardian Guild, before the Guild was shortly disassembled. The idea was to create a mortal equivalent of Guardians who would guide and protect mortals even as immortals lost contact with the mortal realm. Much more magically potent than the average mortal, with the known trait to shapeshift into creatures to become more magically attuned. The blessing passes down not by inheritance but in rather peculiar means. If a wielder deceases, the magic leaves its prior vessel and infuses itself into nature before finding another suitable vessel, thus granting the new vessel said blessing. Once hunted down for their magical properties, they're currently hard to come by and are almost deemed a folktale to most. They are known for having brightly coloured streaks in their hair and eyes that glow in the dark.

✧ About the Creator of this Fun Site~ ✧

Hoi I'm Mauve (they/she), creature above is a fursona of sorts. I'm three berries tall and one (1) berry wide. Otherwise I'm just a college student from Southeast Asia in their early 20s who codes this website with her non-existent free time and energy.

You've just stumbled into my special hideout territory. I don't usually know what to talk about myself seeing as my unhinged paracosm is infinitely more interesting. But since you're here:

What I Do:
> I am evidently enthusiastic about art, writing, world-building, coming up with lore, creating characters and all the likes. Occasionally I dabble in animating and making video edits. I suppose you can consider me some kind of oc storyteller, I'm more of a hobbyist than anything and I do all this for self indulgence. Blorbo stuff funnn
> I've been drawing since forever, but have only started taking it seriously around 2016, writing on the other hand is more like a side hobby that started around 2018. Its only around 2024 that I've coded this site so I'm a very amateur webmaster, and whatever coding experience I've got are pretty much self-taught.

Some Other Stuff I Do:
> photography, sculpting with clay, making playlists, being a notorious night owl, watching videos (I especially like media analysis, anything related to cooking/food history, and pet care of creatures I don't intend on keeping), I guess I can do a bit of watercolour, and enjoy browsing websites to read up on cool niche stuff. That said I love seeing others' world-building and character lore and all OCs in general, TELL ME MOREEE

Stuff I Find Neat:
> the colour purple, northern lights, anything related to stars and space, afternoon naps, cats, foxes, hamsters, sweaters, wearing socks, the sound of rain, literary symbolism and motifs

Nyom:
> blueberries, shrimp, noodle soups, seaweed snacks, pasta, sushi, canned fish, anything with potatoes, raw tomatoes, mint chocolate chip ice cream, yoghurt, cheese, dumplings, savoury porridge, cream of mushroom soup, bubble tea, pudding, creampuffs

Bane of My Existence:
> hot weather, crowded noisy places, waking up early, mingling in fandoms of any kind, badly written romance, bitter coffee, overly sweet food, wearing anything that's not cotton, math lol

Media?
> I suckass at gaming so there's not a lot of things I play, but I love me some Stardew Valley and Minecraft. I kinda have Fields of Mistria and Animal Crossing on my current wishlist right now. Gaming is more like a casual thing to me and I can't be bothered to be competitive
> I hold an obnoxious sentimentality towards games like Club Penguin and Animal Jam cuz they were my shit growing up. In fact I still play Animal Jam occasionally and Club Penguin Journey has been a very good remake. Other honorary mentions: Moshi Monsters, Webkinz, Neopets and maybe some other shit I'm forgetting
>The only RPG that I was ever invested in is Angry Birds Epic I shit you not, underrated in terms of everything, banger osts. The sole reason there's a star shaped island in Naru, this game had me on a chokehold
> My other fun niche is mobile games like Meow Meow Star Acres, Tunnel Town, Happy Street etc. You give me critters I make a little town for them
> I don't watch a whole lotta stuff but some things I dig include Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, Madoka Magica, Dungeon Meshi, Witch Hat Atelier and MLP. I have more stuff on my watchlist but haven't been bothered to start any
> Music wise you can probably get the gist of what I like by scrolling through all the playlists that I feature on this site. My taste is all over the place, I somewhat lean more towards poprock and whatever stuff I find neat depending on mood. That said, I enjoy finding osts from media that fits my vibes even if I'm not necessarily familiar with them

Funny Trivia:
> My digital art journey mainly started with Animal Jam, I used to make masterpieces for my buddies on there. I can still kinda draw with a mouse due to this, but I mainly draw with my finger on my phone now with ibispaint
> I used to post all my writing on Wattpad, some of the first fics I wrote are Animal Jam fanfics, technically you can still find my acc with one of my old users but I've privated all my stuff lol
> I'm queer in some flavours (genderfluid + biromantic + demisexual) and very likely autistic lmao
> I used to go by several different users online, namely Sparkukii, Kosmiikro, Mikyozu, Myxraeth, probably more that I've forgotten about, all of which were keyboard smashes. Nowadays I just go by Mauve cuz I like ourple
> I'm most active on Tumblr but otherwise I really don't post anywhere. I guess I have my Pinterest moodboards and playlists on Spotify too, all blorbo related obviously. I post stuff on YouTube every half a year or something
> My website shares a birthday with me!!! (June 13th), this is funnily unintentional afaik, I kinda don't remember how I started coding everything and wasn't aware of when exactly I registered on Neocities until I checked back on my profile. Me and my blorbo world are soul intertwined fr

Are You A Furry?
> Obviouslyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
